Default Murowany (Carpatian folk)

This song was recorded on a long train trip. It has some traditional highlander folk elements and hint of Thin Lizzy. I am completely new to mixing and mastering. Please do not hesitate to comment even if you hate it.

Cheers

The interesting thing is the rhythm instrument which is what? a mandolin through a stereo wah wah? The lead guitar is okay but the bass and drums are kind of sleepy. Better drums would make a huge difference. Compositionwise, this sounds like an undeveloped idea which needs some movement and structure to go somewhere. Just my opinion

It is same electric guitar as used for the lead part. The tuning is Emajor, natural harmonics, 12th 7th and 5th frets for the respective chords, in the middle of the song is the same trick with Aminor tuning and a capo. Plus phaser effect. Two takes, one 100% right channel the other 100% left channel.

Thanks for the comment, its encouraging. I would never dare to say its a finished song. Please help me understand what change in a bass you would suggest?

Very creative way to create a rhythm guitar part!.. Bass could use some similar out-of-the-box creating. Try some different melodic lines and transitions. Right now it just plods along and is not quite with the beat. Listen to some James Jamerson (Motown) for some ideas.

He's hard to find in my area too because he's dead but try Four Tops, like "Reach Out" old Stevie Wonder, etc.

Bill, you make my day ! The song was recorded on Koss Porta Pro headphones, great stuff, though low freq. are enhanced. As Earwax correctly pointed out earlier the bass line needs to be redone I would also push it up a bit in a next take. THANKS
