Nice Job!Hard to bash this one.Great song too.Nice production and mix. If I had to be real picky I would say choose a better kik drum sound. It's a little clicky for this style.

More of a thump less click. The guitar solo was a bit loud and some freq hurt and brought out string noise. Overall some of the best stuff on here.

Sounds great. The acoustic solo has a bit of a bite to it, a bit over compressed for my taste. But nice production.

The intro I would try to center the acousitc guitar and do a slow pan as the 2nd guitar came in. Other than that it's sounding great to me. Acoustic is sounding real natural and alot of people seem to prefer a DI on acoustics rather than dropping a mic on one. I for one if it's an acoustic guitar want it to sound like an acoustic guitar not a plugged in acoustic. That is just me again.

Yeah ...I had my concerns about that kik drum too so I'm happy to have them confirmed by some more experienced ears .I have a BASIC EZ Drummer kit and I can't seem to get that "click" out of the kik .....any suggestions ...anyone ?...
On listening back , the acoustic solo does jump out a bit ....nothing I can't work with I don't think .
Thanks again for taking the time folks and for the good feedback ...always look forward to hearing from people who actually LISTEN for possible improvements ..

Thru my headphones the solo is panned hard right. I always expect to hear a lead somewhere near the middle. That said, wanted to comment on what I think is an excellent composition suburbly orchestrated. These two aspects cannot be compensated for by mixing, eq'ing or any other process. Without a good composition and orchestration, you're fighting an uphill battle. This is a good example of what to do right!

I agree with jjb
A well written, arranged and performed song is a pleasure to mix. There is a place in the mix for everything.

Some of us just keep trying our #3 turd polish and hope for the best.

really happy to read the comments , folks ..thank so much . From a strictly song-writing point of view , I wondered if the title 'I DON'T NEED TO KNOW" happened often enough to cover for perhaps a not -too- hooky chorus . ANY feedback in that regard is very welcome ...

....re: centering the acoustic solo ..I have always struggled over centering the solo when I am only using two "lead" instruments ...I am concerned that the shift in imaging will make the track sound lopsided (if only for the duration of the solo ) . I try to avoid cluttering the mix with stuff just for the sake of it so I end up wondering where to position things to keep a balance . I do think your comment on centering the solo is valid , though .

also in case of an emergency , where can I get some #3 turd polish ?

I know some of the cool kids think reverb is "so last week" (like that expression), but I'd go for a little more "ambiance". Seems a little dry for my taste. IMHO: YMMV. WTF? SNAFU. WWJD?
