Nice tune... Its sounding a bit muddy though, like the sound is somehow "veiled". Try high-pass filtering all the individual elements in the mix as high as you can get away with without destroying the tone. The drums sound very distant, like they're playing in another room almost - they may need less reverb. The vocal is sitting "on top" of the mix - it needs to be integrated into it - again, high-pass filtering, as well as giving it a bit more presence around 1-3k & compressing it harder will mean you won't have to have it up so loud in the mix to hear it. Sounds like you've got too much overall mix compression (or drum-bus compression) happening too - the crash cymbals are sounding unnaturally squashed... Keep on it - you've got a basically good song here...

No comp on the mix at all. The drums are a really cheap elec. set. I put a reverb on them to give them some life. I might have used too much. Thanks for the mix hints.

Here it is again with some of FF's suggestions. I brought the drums in a little more, now the cymbals a bit much. Just one stereo channel for the drums.

YEA> its a real nice song. better not stop at all tweaking it. but when it goes into i can hardly wait was that an entire kick in. seems like it was punched in. but the song is like the stuff on the radio.
was that kick in punch in sound the drums ??????

Vocals are definitely now more audible... yeah, drums on 1 stereo track are pretty hard to work with... did you do them on a drum machine? If there is any way you could separate the individual drums onto different tracks, it would give you a lot more control.

I'm stuck with one track of drums. Drums were done with a cheap electronic set. I think it made the mix a lot cleaner, but the drum track sounds cheap, no control.

I'm not sure what Bill1 means by punch in. There are only punch ins on the key board track, that may be what you are hearing.

sound good again .nice voice and tune . i was hearing the first drum pickup ( fill)sounds like it was a new worked on piece of the song as if you had the intro then staring at vr 1 just to say but it really nice. it is that one and only first drum fill.
