Default Dreamin'

Tongue in cheek tune for country star wannabees, who think that just moving to Nashville will put their name in lights.

Clever lyrics! A few recording/performance issues, though. Lead goes between on- and off-key (notice it most with harmony). Nice guitar/mandolin work, but the stereo field is hard panned with not much (but the lead voice) anywhere near the middle. The drums sound mechanical and way back. Think that with a re-record of the lead vocal and some changes in the mixing, would sound much better.

good song idea and fun lyric.....track sounds very muddy to my ear ...perhaps vocal should be centred and tracks mixed a bit hotter. Also the acoustic guitar in the right channel sounds a bit out of tune ...I would try to get the vocals up front and a bit clearer .

I appreciate the feedback. I'm still trying to get a handle on this software, and with the mixdown process. I will use your ideas on my remix of this song. Thanks

As A general listener to music I can say that this is listenable. Loving the song and I don't even listen to Country as my main source of music! Loving the concept.

On a side note, are you up for collabing with some Hip Hop on this song? I feel I can keep with the subject matter and we can make something truly great. Even if our mix isn't!!!

Although I didn't re-record the vocals, I changed the drums, and mixed it down to mono. See if this is an improvement to my previous mix. Thanks

Aside from the vocals I would say this is a killer track! I especially love what you did with the drums, gives the song more presence and build.

Okay, I redid the vocals and guitar, and re-mixed once more. I also used my SM57 for vocals instead of my condensor mike. Hopefully, I'm on the right track. Thanks for the feedback.
