Wanted: Bashing

OK so here's my latest (attempt at a) composition. The vocals are sort of sketchy, so i apologize for the occasional off harmony! Anyway, see what you think! Constructive criticism, as always, very much needed, and very much appreciated...

Nice composition. Nice mix of different effects. If it were mine to adjust I'd do a few things. I like the harmony, but you should fix the off parts. Also, put a little more passion in the lead (if you hate it when you fight, you should be a bit more angry). Think about using that high pitched hi-hat like effect only for maybe half the song; after a bit it gets a little tiring. Good job.

I think this song could go a ways, but I'll be blunt. It needs a lot of work and is nowhere near radio quality right now. As Tony Maserati stated "The vocal is the main element that makes the song compelling. All the other stuff is meant to support it" and it's your vocals that don't cut it.

I agree with jjb, you need to sound passionate about what you're singing. I also can hear reverb from your room in the recording, you might want to see if you can control this with blankets or other treatments, then you could add some more controlled and fitting reverb or delay using a plugin. Also try eqing some of the low end out of your vocals. I'd suggest a high pass filter cutting out everything below ~150hz and a bit of a dip out around 500hz to reduce ****th and add transparency.

I really do think this song will be great and I'd like to hear it that way so try some of the stuff I said and re-post it.

the main vocals need to come up a little to break thru the verb on the other tracks. your beat sounds good and the mix sounds good as a starting point. keep it up!
