Hay!

This isn't my usual kind of thing but I liked it, & would like to see what people think of it. Bash away!

Hmm, It was really strange for me. It went all over the place and wasn't even like something you could fit into one genre. I dunno, maybe others will like the style.

Rockerdude!

I wrote a whole e-mail, & then got cut off somehow. Don't have time to write another, so I'll just say thanks.

I like it, this track is very creative. I agree with the movie soundtrack idea but there was something about it that I can't put my finger on it. Kinda like, my ears didnt like it. My inexperience is probably the cause for me having no idea what it is that my ears did not like but maybe someone more experienced knows what im thinking, maybe something in the eq'ing. But overall I really enjoyed the abstract quality of it, really set a cool mood.

Yea the soundtrac for some international spy movie. I could not find something that my ears didn't like as referenced by Jezzdrums. It's definitely very atmospheric/mood creating. Personally I like changing the rhythmic pattern rather than stopping and starting it at different places. This format does work for atmospheric music that needs to accompany video since the music is not the main focus. Changing rhythmic tempo and pattern or layering syncopation is more interesting for music that is to be more of the focus. I dig the reverbed/panned guitar parts. I see you have sonar producer 8. I was thinking of moving up to computer recording with this software, do you like it? Would you recommend it to record full live bands in a studio setting versus virtual inside the box instruments with overdubbed recorded instruments? Currently I use a Yamaha AW1600 to record and mix and have used it to produce several full albums of studio recordings and live (8 channel) gigs. I love it but know there must be something better. keep up the good sounds.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

Spy Movie... Yeah!

Heavybdrums: I've been recording myself for about eight or ten years,
& I'm still learning. I've only ever used cakewalk programmes -so I can't tell you it's better than anything else, but I can say it works great. I don't have any serious problems- or more to the point- the problems I have relate to windows, not Sonar. If you've got the bucks, I recommend it.
Thanks again everyone.
