New Song!!! Bash It Please!!!!

Wuts up recording review im back with another track to bash! Im still challenged with compression and keeping my vocals tight so im putting 3 different versions of this track up. This song can be a banger if the production is perfect but again they are scratch tracks and im just trying to get a feel of mixing before i go into an actual studio and lay my tracks down. im using my new rokit 5's and they sound good on them but its all over the place in a car?wuts that about? thanks for viewing!!!!

I honestly think you are rushing to the final product! Take more time in listening to your music and adjust levels on each track accordingly. My opinion is your vocals over power the rest of the music! Send me an accapella of your vocals with no effects added and tell me the bpm and I will send u back what I come up with and tell me your opinion!

thats excatly what im doin rushing! it drives me crazy because the songs sound good out of my monitors? with good production how do you think this track will be? as far as substance, flow,overal concept, feeling, vibe?

My opinion is your vocals are already up front a little too much! Play with the levels on each track (channel) individually and separately with and without the effects.. It takes alot of time and patience sometimes.. The bottom line is that you have to have an ear for it.. Compare your material to some of your favorite songs in the same genre and really pay attention to the contrast of all the sounds... I listen to my stuff over n over n over n over adjusting levels then I leave it alone and listen to it again the next day with fresh ears! Mind you I'm still not all that satisfied with my shit and need to learn lots more and don't consider myself to be "dope" producer yet! But thats my 2 cents anyway! Keep at it!!!

Track 2 sounds the most put together. The vox are already upfront, like burningearz said maybe too upfront. The end of the song vocals kinda sound all over the place timing wise. If that's how you want it than cool, but it seems to throw the song off some. lower the vox on track 2 or use some kind of hard limiter so that the volume doesn't fluctuate as much on the vox and you might have something there.

good look on the comments! i didnt compress or limit this song so i see how the volume fluctuates. Im gonna take this to a studio and just watch as the production un folds and hopefully take that back home with me to apply it to my next track.
