Hey this is my first thread, i joined the site a few days ago and jumped right into posting without properly introducing myself. so i am me, i been recording for about 6 years now, started out under a mastering engineer learning to master, he was no big name but he new what he was doing enough to make a living off it. anyway a few years later he left time for a bigger market and left me to fend for myself, not that many people need the assistance of a mastering engineer without a reputation so i backtracked into mixing for local guys in the streets and writing music and lyrics for some of them. anyways this was one of my first mixes, let me now what you think.

I like the vocal work, your effects are subtle but you feel the impact of them. is there a snare in there or is it just a clap? the kick sounds thin but again it could be these headphones i will have to listen again on my monitors. I wouldnt mind working with you i like your sound

just a clap, the kick is a tad bit thin but not bothersome it was a trade off this isn't one of my beats when i got it on disc it was a little heavy on the bass and made the beat sound muffled or muddy. just kinda thick. so there was a trade off on clarity vs boom. i don't know what any of these guys are doing now, but i would like to work with them again. i'm rapping last.

i like it bro. smoothe beat. kick is a bit thin and the shakers are a little dry but other wise it's groovy track! well done.

First impression, sounds good and professional. Put kick up a bit, rhodes keys down a tad, pan the shaker to one side or move it around.

Needs a changeup somewhere!
Different instruments or drums for some part, it gets boring fast, too musically simple.

And on that critical note, the most important part of the song (the chorus) is bland, needs to be more interesting to catch people, go somewhere from the verse. At least add some orchestra/violin sounds and overdub the vocals, pan them left and right, maybe some background harmonizing.

ha ha im a brutal ass hole especially when people come to me asking me what i think about lyrics being a song writer and all, so i expect the same thing when i ask that question. i take it all in stride, my skin is very very very thick, it'll take more then a few words to get through

as long as its constructive critisicm its all good, even if you dont want to hear it. I cant stand hater's tho but thats another topic
