Stylistically, I'm reminded of The Cars and Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits, are you influenced by those guys at all?
The tune and instrumentation are decent. The vocals are the sketchy part, which is probably the most common foible I've encountered in amateur music--it's what tends to separate it from pro music. Though you can more or less hold a tune, you're obviously not a formally trained vocalist (hey, neither am I), and your voice lacks the control and nuance and precision that could make it sound professional.
The cure (such as it is) for an untrained voice is to lace your vocals with effects; and you're doing that, which is good. Therein lies your best shot, IMO, along with writing catchy tunes (which is probably the other main element I find lacking in amateur music).
