Stylistically, I'm reminded of The Cars and Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits, are you influenced by those guys at all?

The tune and instrumentation are decent. The vocals are the sketchy part, which is probably the most common foible I've encountered in amateur music--it's what tends to separate it from pro music. Though you can more or less hold a tune, you're obviously not a formally trained vocalist (hey, neither am I), and your voice lacks the control and nuance and precision that could make it sound professional.

The cure (such as it is) for an untrained voice is to lace your vocals with effects; and you're doing that, which is good. Therein lies your best shot, IMO, along with writing catchy tunes (which is probably the other main element I find lacking in amateur music).

These are just my opinions though, I could be talking out of my tuckus. I hope these comments help. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment - I used to like The Cars, but not particularly Dire Straits, although I made a cover of a Mark Knopfler song not long ago.
I probably have influences from everywhere, being an old git - Have a listen to my others on here if you have the time, as they are quite different to this one. Incidentally, someone else mentioned these "Effects" on the vox, but I don't use any except reverb and compression. I did tune the vox up on this one, but in the end preferred the "out of tune" version.
