I have used the same technique on the kick. Mainly because to get the ideal click on a kick drum, you need to use compression with a relatively slow attack. These settings however, aren't ideal for emphasising the low end 'thud'. So having two kick tracks (one high and one low passed) with different styles of compression, solves this dilemma... at least it has helped, in my opinion. |

Thanks for the tips for drums. I just don't want to play with this drum mixing anymore 'cause it was just fastly made MIDI-drums. Still I am thinking about how is it possible to reduce sustain or something from my distortion sound to make it sound tight. If I try to play something faster with palm mute it still lets sound through more than it was supposed even when I have noisegate on. Of course this might be problem with pick-ups, but... |

| It could be a problem with your technique also, but what kind of bridge system do you have? If you have a floating bridge then I will tell you what worked for me. Put some cotton balls in the back cavity against the springs, this will dampen them and keep them from resonating after cutoff.
