Default A Star Is Born

This is a work in progress. My next steps are lead guitars and vocals. I,d like to know what all you guys think still needs work before I go on to finish it. Im aware that my drum track is a little out of time here and there but overall I think its very close. It took me FOREVER to get this drum track, so Im going with it and Im hoping that my leads and vocals will hide my drums imperfections. I know thats a real copout but so be it. Please let me know what you guys think could still use some work before I proceed with it. Thanks everybody.

I enjoyed your track very much and look forward to hearing the vocals in the future. I'm very new at this stuff so I don't feel able to give any real critical advice, I just liked it.

I'm a newbie also but the only thing that I didn't like was when the guitar came in, you loose a lot of the bass. Like they are both occupying the same sonic space or something. With such a KILLER bass sound you shouldn't loose it. Other than that, maybe some sort of tempo change or some really cool lyrics to spice it up. Try listening to a song called "I'm a Man" by Black Strobe. I think you might get some ideas. I really enjoyed your tune. Nice work.

Hey Stu, thanks for the advice dude. Do you think that I might need to bring up my bass level or maybe just try to pan it a little differently?

Vocals and leads are on the way. I just hope I dont louse up the tune too badly with my lousy voice. I,ll check out the material you mentioned. Thanks again Stu.

Tips & Turtorials: Recording and Music Mixing with Complementary EQ | MixMyMusic.net this helped me a lot. use this as a diagram for your bass and drums then add everything else into its own area. the article is great. good luck, if you get another mix be sure to post it.

Hey tom yr as experienced at listening to songs as anybody. So drop the newb tag. Id want yr opinion.

Although i think this should be in unfinshed, I dig the groove. I had to keep it pretty low and didnt hear the intracies but i was diggin the overall jam.
