My first suggestion would be to turn up the cymbals! At present the drums don't sound realistic at all because the cymbals are so low in the mix I can only just make them out sometimes - a real metal drummer would be smashing those things within an inch of their lives.

Right, I got your point. I'll do that. but the problem is that the ezdrummer cymbals are very shrill. so i had to reduce the overhead volume. any suggestions as to how i could tweak them perfectly? thanks for listening.

What's your monitoring situation?

man this is way muffled.. honestly I cant hear any cymbals or kick... just a snare and an occasional tom fill... the whole thing seems to be low passed at an extreme setting.

I ran it through har-bal (granted its a mp3-wave conversion...not ideal) I think it shows the gaps

theres a serious cut around 1.6k and a complete rolloff at like 3k.. thats the reason for the really muffled sound I believe.. the problem is in the mix. Almost all the instruments are gonna need some energy in frequencies that have been cut.

I actually wrote what cakewalk did almost word for word before I erased it and asked what your monitoring situation was. I'm thinking you have either over mixed this project to the point you can't hear it anymore or your monitoring setup is bad.

How does this mix sound when you compare it to other songs through the same speakers?

other then the cymbals being really low in the mix it sounds awesome! like the guitar tone! needs no cowbell, but needs more cymbals! : )

Yes, my monitoring setup is horrible because I don't have any. I use sennheiser cx-300 for mixing, which I know is wrong. But I have no other choice. Thanks for listening.

Alright. The problem is that if I increse the frequency of the instruments any further it becomes very fuzzy. The problem is with my zoom processor. It's not meant for recording. It's meant for live stuff. This is the best I can get out of it. I've been trying really hard to get a good tone but I have not been able to get any good results. When it comes to drums, I know it sounds horrible. I'll have to tweak it further. But the main thing bothering me now is my guitar tone. Thanks for listening.
