Default OK - 2nd posting _ Metal Core song

I haven't recorded in while but I did mix and master this Track of GODS LAST BREATH that I had recorded last year in my 12 x 12 back shed. I need to get better mics but I think it sounds ok for the samson mics I used. What do you guys think?Gods Last Breath-Track 8 mastered.mp3

nice playing. try bringing out the kick drum and the bass guitar. i hear the guitar and the cimbals on the drums just fine. the snare needs a boost as well, and right now it sounds a bit like a samba snare

the solo tone is actually really nice and upfront. the rhythm tone is 7/10 there. if may i ask what amp r u using for guitars?

It all sounds OK apart from the small biscuit (cookie) tin being used instead of a snare.
Oh, and the kick's a bit lost too.
I do like the solo guitar's tone.
There's two extra bass guitar notes at the end of the track...are these to make up for its quietness throughout the rest of the song?
Its probably not fair to blame the mics.
Is it going to get some vocals sometime?

PS I DID like it!

u should give some thwack to the snare to eq beef it up a little. roll off a little of the low end on the guitars. compress the snare and kick after eq'd. its off to a good start but u got to sculpt out those instruments a little.

Thanks for the comments. As far as the instruments used - I elaborate a little.. The guitars are panned with Jackson on the left and an LTD on the right. Both are using a half stack Mesa Boogie through a BBE. As far as the snare - its a pork pie snare which are infamous for this sound. I can add some eq - bass to quite the snap - I guess I will experiment. As far as the last 2 notes of bass. The band wanted to give a kinda garage feel so they wanted me to leave those notes at the end. I think the expander may be covering up the bass and the bass drum - I'll try it without it or at a lower setting. Now as far as vocals - the band's vocalist left this band shortly before laying down the vocals for this song. So I guess its gonna stay this way. Thanks for the comments - it really helped.... Back to mixing... Thanks to all...
