Default New band I'm working on...

Hey all, haven't posted in a while, but I have a fresh demo I've been mixing for a couple weeks now for my new tech-metal band, "Absolum". Anyway, I picked up a lot of info on making magic mixes, so hopefully this one will be quite an improvement from my last ones. It's incomplete (vocally) but I'd love a critique of what's done.

*EDIT 10/21*
Here's a new version of the mix, cut out a vocal part in the end that I started to dislike, removed most of the bass' "lumpiness", tweaked guitar EQ for more definition, managed to get the mix a bit louder without too much loss.

Thanks for listening :]

Good job man, really i usually have a ton to say or critique. but really u did an awesome job.
I was trying to look for Absolum on myspace to check out more tracks, all i was able to find is an electro/trance artist, let me know when u put one up for your band or if i need to keep searchin.

really good job mate, loved it. i like the vocals a lot, especially when the backing vocals come in at 3:03... reminded me a lot of coheed and cambria. look forward to the final product, well done

AWSOME work! love it! but there was 1 thing that got me, thers a bit of string noice in the break down 2:25ish, and then coming out of it again, 2:42. and maby its just me? but especialy in break downs i find sting noice realy distracting. good luck, keep up the good work!

I like a big cookie cutter recording just as much as the next guy believe me. obviously this guy can do it. i think that the string noise keeps it human. As a guitar player these are sounds we hear and love because thats what makes it sound alive and not like a machine. Underoath had to push to get things like this by with adam d. producing but i think "Define the great line" is still today one of my favorite produced albums in this genre because it captures all these live things like 2 singers in one mic making them having to sing on key and not able to auto-tune em out and guitars the way they are played is how they sound. I think your recording skills are awesome man keep up the great work u definitely have a talent.

Yeah man its really good.
At 0:34 it all goes left. Is this intentional?
I won't comment on the vocals except to say your incomplete vocals are better than many peoples finished ones.
