HC/Metal song w/ Andrew(Comeback Kid)

hey guys, few months back I recorded a heavy hc/metal song with my buddy Jeff, Jasdave, and Andrew. They provided the screams, I did the rest. I used Superior Drummer 2.0 for the drums. the song's called REVIVE.

pls let me know what to change/why it sucks/or if its decent the way it is, etc...

Good overall mix. good levels. good guitar and bass tone. In my opinion the drums should ideally have more tone they have have a lot of attack but no much tone. i prefer the screaming around the end (2:20 on) to the screaming before that... idk waht else i'm not an expert.

Guitars sound real thin during palm muting. Try to fatten then by boosting the frequinces around 200 hz.

try boosting 100hz ~ 125hz, pay attention to what's happening underneath that. lower frequencies run away easily. 200hz is ok but that's moving more into the "woody sound" turf imho.

Agree with you on that. 200hz should be tweaked only very slightly. It may help with the palm muted "chug" parts.

Overall, being a metalhead myself, it's pretty good. Not a fan of that style of screaming (or shouting if you may) but still good. I like the proggy rhythm guitars. Like everyone's mentioned before, the drums are probably the weakest aspect of that song. This said in the musical perspective and not in the audio engineering perspective. I'm still an amateur in that dept. :P Looking forward to hearing more tunes.
