God I need a Vocalist - Bash instruments (Deathmetal/Melodic)

Hey gang,

I know it always sucks to bash a song without vocals but I'm still working on my mixing/EQing skills and looking for more feedback on anything and everything.

Song writing / Riffs / Flow / EQ / Muddiness / If you happen to have a really bad ass guttural vocal ability you want to add to the mix etc

I know it can be hard to listen to music like this sometimes without vocals but I hope the songwriting helps out with that... Been on a writing frenzy and I'm craving feedback. Thanks!

Everyone has different tastes and there are three songs here so parhaps labeling will point you to one you would prefer to listen to if you don't have time for them all.

Song03 : Heavily Melodic

Song04 : More Death Metal than melodic, but still uses more evil harmonies.

Song05 : Also more Death Metal but a more solid hybrid attempt with 3rd harmonies and more evil harmonies mixed together in the same song.

Good stuff! Did you play all the instruments? Are the drum tracks plug ins? Or a drum machine?
Sounds like your mixing is up to par!
Also,..i'm a drummer,..but i do back up vocals (grunts,growls,etc>) in my bands. I also do evil ambient electronic music with really crunchy riffs on the side from my bands. Maybe if i find some time i could lend a couple growls or grunts. Cheers!

Yeah I played all the instruments, drums are DKFH.

I'll keep in mind the backup stuff, since it doesn't sound like you wanted to give full on vocals a whirl

what bands do you listen to? i'm 35, so i'm oldschool,..into deicide,old carcass,old cannibal corpse,obituary,napalm death, fear factory, suffocation,..etc.
if i have an idea, of what you listen to,..and/ or what style of lead vocals (death metal) you're lookin' for,..i might be willing to give it a whirl!
i've got a ton of equipment. all kinds of efx to make the most intense vocals anyones ears have ever heard.

I listen to most of those on a regular basis and am familiar with the ones I don't listen to too often, and the vocals I had in mind would definitely be in the deeper, corpse style I think - though vocal variation is important.. all monotonous is boring. The higher stuff from Deicide probably wouldn't fit so well I don't think but who knows?

I listen to a lot of various metal, so just to bullet point off some in my itunes: Abigail Williams, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, At the Gates, Whitechapel, Oceano, Behemoth, Dimmu, In Flames, Blackguard, Bloodbath, Candlemass, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, The Crown, Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel, Hatesphere, Hypocrisy, Immortal, Dies Irae, Vader, Old Man's Child, Neaera, etc etc


Also had Johan from Amon Amarth in mind given the more melodic nature of some of the songs but in the end it's whatever meshes well with the track; Or even the vocals from Bloodbath or Hypocrisy might work well. I have parts in my songs that instrumentally are drawn out a bit that might pair nicely with some extended growls.

I have no lyrics so feel free to take creative freedom on that. I don't mind what the context is, as long as it sounds awesome and has a little thought put into it (like Carcass does).

Anyway if you wanted to do it and you lay down a track we can hook up over AIM maybe and you can direct send me your wav file mixdown of your vocals and I'll throw it in the mix on mine at the same starting point so it syncs up.

Feel free to layer etc if you want! Thanks for taking interest - it's all about the music!

alright,..i see what you're lookin' for,..like i said,..i do have a couple projects i'm workin' on at the moment,..but i will definitely find some time to do this! i love to interact with other musicians, (IT'S WHAT KEEPS MY STYLE FRESH) ..and i WILL give 100%!!! i always do when it comes to music,..it's my life! without it,.i would not breathe!
ps.-yeah, i wouldn't be doing any of the high pitched screams like deicide does,..that can get on your nerves after a bit. it's good sometimes in moderation,..if it's done right.

Nice ideas man. Just attempted vocals for my stuff today. Starting the **** up process for my voice. Still have your other track. Hope to give it a try yet cos I really dig that song.

As far as these 3 songs go, I really like song 05. Sucker for harmonic guitar lines.

I figure it's as good a place as any to try and find a vocalist I can work with for the purpose of making good music. Craigslist is kind of a bust and finding a good metal vocalist can be challenging - just like finding a good metal drummer know what I mean?
