Default Check out this metal mix.

This is my first mix with slates.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
If you want to know any of the gear I used, just ask.
Thanks.

OK the drums are nice, but didn't the axes get a bit lost?

"Your religioooooooon... is going nowheeeeeeere"

Brutal song, brutal mix - though I didn't care a whole lot for the metal core style later half of the song. I do however think the drums are more in front of the guitars then they should, can you bring up the guitars a little more maybe without peaking the mix? Also some of the back up vocals are a bit quieter, notably near the end of the song - that might be intentional however.

Also - HOW did they get that awesome bass bomb sound. I've been trying to figure out how to do that. Example would be around 1:14-1:16... I love it when bands do that!

Sweet dude!
I'm posting a new mix of this tonight or tomorrow.
I used a Peavey 5150 through a Mesa 4x12. Mic was a 57.
The drums were Ddrum Dominions With Audix f-15 overheads.
I triggered Steven slate samples with Ddrum triggers.
Vocals were a Shure sm57 as well I think.
All through a Presonus Firepod in to Sonar 8.
And for the drums, they are fully quantized and we did cymbals separate (for no bleed).

A lot of acoustic treatment in the room?
You prefer triggers over micing?
