Hi Jon,
There's some great ideas going on in there.
I like that I can tell some of the words.
The run up at 0:53 and 0:58, I think does not quite fit - needs to be more metal.
Be carefull the bottom end does not end up too muddy - its sort of getting that way.
I'm not so sure the whole thing hangs together as a song yet - appear to be a number of unconnected themes - maybe needs to return to the running start/end theme a couple more times?

First I dug the song, but it seems to be a mix of brutal death metal and some death core to me. Lots of low chugs, gutteral and indiscernible words tend to be a staple of the death core stuff like Oceano and Whitechapel.

While Peter has a point, I think as a more avid listener of this type of metal (correct me if I'm wrong Peter please) the piece between :53 and :58 fits with the style of music. Necessary or not it's not uncommon to hear parts like this in the midst of some of the chuggier death core style songs.

Mix wise I thought it was pretty brutal - however I agree that the lows are in definite danger of getting muddy. The guitars are pretty easy to tell apart which is solid, but I couldn't make out the bass at all (could be my headphones though).

In my personal opinion I think the vocals could come down a wee bit so they don't overpower the other instruments - and perhaps the kick at the beginning of the song. The rest of the song the kick sounds fine, but in the first 10-15 seconds of the song I find myself thinking "kick, kick kick" which I shouldn't be thinking. It gets buried later appropriately as he nails it with the heavy guitars palm muting which is why it sounds brutal later in the song.

Just my two sense, but overall great mix. Tweak the bass drum and the vocals a bit and any residual related tweaking necessary from changing those levels and I think this will be be really awesome. UNLESS of course, you're going for the heavy bass sound which is not uncommon in slower more brutal death metal.
