Bash this recording - Metalcore

This is just a quick cover clip of Killswitch Engaged's "My Curse" I made to test out the metal sounds from my Peavey Vypyr's record out feature. Tell me what you think of the tone of the different instruments, and ofcourse the mix.

kick sounds a little thick to me, but that might just be my preference. i'm no KSE expert...

Ok, new mix with the adjustments made.

How does it sound now? Also, how do the guitars sound? I was going for a grinding tone but It came out a little mushy?

The thing about the guitars is that they sound pretty bad on my headphones but great on my huge reference speakers.

the tone is good but you might want to be careful it doesn't get too muddy like it sounds in the mix (if it was mixed). Everything seemed to be very low frequency which could be a danger area later. As a personal note the guitar tone should, in my opinion, be relatively clear when not palm muted, but have some balls when it does.

I have a thread nearby called "God I need a vocalist" check out the guitar tone I've got in there for an Idea what I'm talking about.
