Thumbs up Bash This Hard Rock Tune

Yoo

Its my 1st post and i just want some advice to make my recordings better. This is one of my bands tunes called "Be My Motherman". The drums are programmed in Guitar Pro then put through Battery 3, EZdrummer pop kit and finally BFD with a Lucite kit i think this has had a lot of compression added and sum reverb. The guitars have been recorded using a line 6 UX1 usb interface and put through Pod Farm its been layer 5 times with a plexi, 5150 and mesa models with various effects. I used the whammy off a me-50 . The bass was also through pod farm.

Any help would be appreciated, go nuts

In the main riff, I think maybe the guitar should be a little brighter. I like that sound in the breakdown, and the pinch harmonics sound really good, but just overall, I think it needs a little more high end.

Good luck!

compress it less. i actually like the guitar tone, maybe turn the gain down slightly; but i'd definitely double it. i think the drums are what need the high end.

I've got a mix down with vocals now.

Ive added the top end on the guitars and a little on the drums as the cymbals fell out of the mix on that recording i feel .

Were noobs at doing vocals so if you have any specific tips 4 them they'll be much appreciated.

Cheers 4 the comments

The vocals sound a bit wrong.
Use a dynamic mike, compress it a lot, try adding delay and reverb.

Pull your master fader waaaaaaay down, and listen.

In a proper mix, as you go down, elements should start to fall out. The next to last thing (penultimate) that should be left is the snare. Pull it down a little more and all you should hear is the vocals. When you do this, it will reveal a lot for you about your mix.

Think of your mix as a bunch of separate elements, not one big element.

I'm afraid that with this mix, everything is gonna go away all at once. Vanilla.... No definition.

Back to work..... you can get it. Take your time.
