Default Bash This alternative rock song Again!! (w/guitars)

Thanks for all the replys on the old thread. This recording has a lot of what you guys taken into consideration. We also redid, and added some new guitar today. As of now, the guitar has no eq. Only a few tracks have effects.

So we tracked all the guitar parts. We didn't like the old sound so we re-did it.

We still have to track keyboards and vocals.

Here is the old post...

The guitar reminds me of when super mario jumps lol!
Very creative, like the ska feel.

Wow! Your song gets the award for "Most Improved Mix"! Sounding very nice now - Excellent stuff... The only area I could pick for improvement would be that when the distorted guitars come in, they actually sound "smaller" than the clean guitar - could be the overall compression / limiting doing this - In fact I've even heard this on super-robo-pro mixes. But it would definitely add more impact if you got things in the right proportion. Well done!

That's the intro of the century! Love it
Great guitar sound
There's nothing to do here but listen and enjoy

One question, what's the bass guitar on here? Rick? Jazz? nice tone

Thanks man, I think a lot of the better-soundingness had to do with the fact that we re-recorded most of the guitar and experimented with differnt mics, mic placements, and layering/panning. As far as the drums though, at first I was falling into the 'louder is better' mindset as opposed to trying to find frequencies that cut through.

At first I didn't understand what you meant, after listening back its pretty clear. The guitars don't have any compression or eq on them. I think maybe if i cut the intro very slightly in the beginning it will get rid of this, or make it less obvious.

I'm not sure, I have to ask my bass player. All I know is that its nothing too expensive, it's a fender, and its black and white (if that helps any).
We also used a simulated bass amp in garage band, and some minor compression to take off the edge. These things manipulated the tone a lot also.
