Default Askiing your opinion

The Lonely Boys at limbolink.hbvl.be | Limbolink.be

1. Domp op het woater
2. Gimme all your lovin
3. Born to be wild

The first two tracks are songs from there album that i recorded a few months ago. In Total it were 6 new songs.
The third track is a live track from a show a while ago.
I think i heard the songs maybe 20000 times or more so this is the moment that i want second opinions. I getting crazy of it other else. :-)

Greetings

Kevin,

I listenned to these songs for about 20 seconds each.
I have seldom heard such antiseptic covers.
Europop plays heavy rock clasics.
No doubt you could sell them to "music for pleasure" if that label is still going, otherwise I really wouldn't bother.
Sorry to be so negative about your hard work, clearly the recording is clear and balance is OK, but all the soul has been sqeezed out.

"Heavy metal thun-derrr"! Awesome. PSR has a point, although "Europop" reference makes no sense. You guys are decent cover band and I'm sure it all works out live just fine. As far as the recordings go, they are mind-numbingly boring. They are moderately competently recorded with good-sounding gear. The English reminds me of a band I heard in Germany decades ago in a German bierfest where the the singer plowed through Johnny Cash songs and other vaguely country/western offerings. He had this huge Hohner keyboard essentially placed on the floor with the keys at an 75 degree angle so he could stand and march along as he played. The English reminds me a little of that. In that light, I liked the German lyric on "Smoke...".

The gated distorted guitar on "Smoke on the Water" is just plain weird.
The clean guitars on BTBW are are also strikingly out of place. The brite, cheesy organ sound ain't helping, either.
