Default S A M H A I N

Samhain was written after having been inspired by John Carpenter's Halloween. The track was written, sequenced and mixed by me and was done using a Fostex DMT8, Ensoniq TS10, Roland JV1080 and an Alesis D4. Processing was done with a Digitech TSR-24. This was done 10 years ago however and does not have the fidelity of my latest recordings which I'll be posting soon. I hope you find it as chilling as I do and thanks for the opportunity.

Thanks Monster Matt! I'm glad my having been influenced by Maiden, Dio and the likes is evident in my voice and I appreciate your kind remark.

Fun with time signatures! That's what makes drumming worth doing.

Some pre-metal prog rock influence as well, I'm thinking. Rush much?

Great vocals. Strong.

I look forward to hearing some of your newer stuff.

What is your native instrument?

Thanks for your interest and yes Rush has played an influential role in the music I create. So has Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Tony MaCalpine, A7X, Dream Theater and Alan Holdsworth to mention a few. My native instrument(s) are voice, keyboards & drums for as long as I can remember. Check out myspace.com/randallwight for details and youtube my name Randy Wight for some cool vids.

I can't get passed the keyboard trying to be electric guitars. Oh well. It's a fun sound that almost sounds more Halloween than real guitars.

The Dokken-era vocals are awesome!
