Rigid fiberglass is still cheaper, and more effective than foam. You just have to cover it with breathable fabric. Find a place that recycles building materials locally, they should have some for dirt cheap. Foam is for mattresses. |

| I fell for the Foam for Mail stuff a few years back. Don't do it.

We just got in a load of Primacoustics stuff at the store, we're installing it in our studio (we're also dealers). The stuff looks decent, but only marginally better than what I built myself for 1/3 the price. Not impressed with the Freeport things, despite their claim they ARE flimsy (if you want something sturdy use triangles in the design). And to MY ears, they don't do much to isololate. The thing about foam is, it doesn't last that long. The plain grey stuff in the corners has become rather sticky in the past 4 years or less. |

I removed all the foam out of my studio and installed acoustic pannels from ATS acoustics.Sterling Sound Studios The pannels come in lots of colors and sizes and is more effective than foam for controling low freq.

You may want to resize those pictures on the the site. They are loading full res, and being resized to fit the frame. You don't have links to the full version so it's A) wasted bandwidth, B) slower loading, C) reduced quality resize to 640 x 480 and 72dpi The page loads in around 10 seconds with a 4MB load. You should be able to get it to 2 seconds and 1.5MB |
