Default Soundproofing Wooden Shed

Hey folks,

i need some advice about soundproofing a 6" by 12" Wooden Shed.

It does'nt have to be perfect just soundproofed enough so that i can lay down vocal tracks and no one can hear me lol

Thanks in advance

Just to tighten it up I think I would start with a couple of layers of sheetrock with insulation between the studs. Then some cheap tongue and groove pine over that. I would put a layer of 3/4" plywood on the floor to stiffen it (maybe 2 if it still flexed alot). Throw down a rug or two and listen to what it sounds like. Then go over to Ethans page and go from there to get the space tuned in.

there is soundproofing and acoustic treatment. Much of it starts with reverberating/reflective surfaces in both cases.

I mentioned in another thread that I just finished insulating the walls and ceiling of my garage with R19 insulation. That combined with the concrete floor made a room that was acoustically very neutral. There was a nice bounce off the floor, but the walls and ceiling were almost dead with no bass build up or unwanted reflections. It cut almost all the outside noise as well.

I have since put up drywall and the room totally sucks for sound now. But it is supposed to be a workshop not a recording studio so I cannot complain.

My Harley disagrees, it is a hard toss up between the two hobbies.
