Ok, so here it is. I haven't posted in a while because I have been really busy with work, a new car (83 BMW 320i fixer upper) and redesigning my really bad room. As mentioned in the title, this is a 10'x10'6"x7'11" room. (I know, I know, too square! It is all I have to work with right now). Ethan, I have studied your traps and diffusers and unfortunately I can't afford them so I am going to copy them (please don't sue me, I wont be selling anything). I will not however be using the tri traps. I am going floor to ceiling with 2' face telescoping 5 1/4" into the corner. I have access to an entire pallet of USG 7057G Kapok ceiling tile.
Panel Size Class Item No. NRC CAC LR1
2'x4'x5/8" Class A 7057G .60 20 .76
Since I have access to an entire pallet I am using these. I assume that layering brings the specs up a bit. Here are some images of one 4'x2'x5 1/4" corner trap untreated:
Now Ethan, is it ok to go all soft with these panels as they will be extremely snug floor to ceiling?
As for the other 8 corners of the room, I will be using the same material and since the room is so small I will only be using one 2x4'x2 1/2" -3" in each floor wall and ceiling wall section. These will be framed.
For the back wall I will be making (copying) one of Ethan's REALTRAPS DIFFUSORS. It will be 4x6' so the equivalent of 3 of your panels Ethan. I will be using all the leftover insu that I have from cutting for the corner traps.
Here are some images of the room now. Don't mind the mess please, as stated before, I am in the process of all this work. Also, don't look at the Advent speakers I am purchasing Alesis MKII's this week (they are in my budget which is almost $0) and the reviews are good.
Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for being here everybody, this place rocks.
