Well, mines far from as advanced as everyone elses here, but i did make it strictly for hip hop vocals. so it suits my needs.
no control room or iso booth.
heres where i do my mixing

heres the mixer and headphones

The microphone setup with a blanket behind it so the wooden panels dont regenerate any unwanted sounds

all of it together, kinda

Two years ago I was recording in a spare room in my house to a stereo cassette recorder. You have a great set up. I can thank my 23 year old daughter for my new garage/studio. She moved back home to finish her Senior year of college (she was low on money). So I had to give up my spare room. But I got a 30 x 64 garage in exchange. I find myself now too old and hurt to enjoy it Anyway, never say it sucks. You could have a cassette recorder like I use to. Now that sucks. I still have tapes (they are pretty freaky).

im missing out on essentials, thats why i consider it to be sucky... i NEED monitors, 15 dollar wal mart speakers dont cut it.

i need to somehow cut down on pc noise (new case fan), and i need to better the acoustics in the room,

I have several pairs of Sennheiser HD202 Headphones. $29 per. I know most say not to mix with headphones, but I use both monitors and phones. I have a pair of HD280's and HD600's, but I have used the HD202's many times and they work great. $29 HD202's would be better than pc speakers. I have always had luck with Antec cases and fans. Pretty quiet.
