Default Acoustics On A Budget

Hey yall here is a thing that I built to help w/ room acoustics. I did one last week and one yesterday. And if you question if it really works take a listen to this song that I will attatch also. Then check out in my profile a few songs that I have recorded w/o having these then tell me do you think they work?

oh yeah I bought enough materials to build 4 of these and they are 36" square figured I would add that in. And I still only spent roughly $160

Excellent recording!

So if you didn't use funds to build these, did you steal them?

I guess you meant that if you don't have a TON of funds, you can go this route. Rockwool and blankets are the way to go in my opinion regardless of budget if the room can't be custom built.

It sounds like your dohickeys are really working well for you!

What gear did you use to record that?

Brandon

Well ok I have enough materials to build four of these for roughly $160 so yeah I guess you could say if you don't have unlimited funds seeing how I have seen one 4X6' panel cost as much as $400 and I can build 4 36" squared panels.

Here's the funny part:
I used a CAD Trion 8000 for the vocals
Behringer C-2 Mic through a Behringer Ultragain Pro Mic2200 Pre on the guitar and DI on guitar and DI on the bass

If you have compared this recording to some of my past in the bash area you will see that this by FAR is the best mix I have done to date.

I now use a Digidesign 003 rack+ interface and Pro Tools LE8 this was actually my first recording with it also.
