WEll peavy has always made cheap tube stuff. I dont own this amp, but I did record with it when a friend brought his over. It seemed solid and the sound had that growl to it that good tyube amps have when overdriven. however I also noticed that it does not seem to have that el84 power tube big ass marshall type sound (you know the one with the big ass bassy sound liek from a 4x12, the marshall sound) or at least perhaps it wasnt cranked, but it was more like there peavy 50/50 rackmount power amp. Still tube but moer like fender tube than marshall tube power amp wise. Preamp could get a decent amount of growling gain.

well my friends was getting a problem with one of the tubes, but thats not the amp, just fragile tubes.

To me, it sounded good, realy ncie tubey chimey cleans and decent growling overdriven sounds, but if you want that big ass marshall type sound, then you would need some el 84 like the crate v33 combo amp, its just more marshall soundign because of the power tubes where as i found this amp to be more fendery....
