The nice thing about having the pod xt is that its extremely convenient to not have to set up mics and all that when composing, and the thing is really versatile, especially when you buy the extra model packs. (which i think sucks that it doesn't just come with everything already on it) anyways it was really nice for when i was starting out recording and didn't have a tube amp i could still get all sorts of decent sounds out of it. I've since gotten a couple tube amps and microphones and starting doing things that way for the most part but i still use the xt whenever theres a sound i want that ican't get out of my other gear.
