Default Kustom Quad Jr.

Price Paid: 400 USD

Features: 100 Watt Halfstack. 4 Ohms. Solid State, Cabinet comes with Celestion Speaker. Head has 2 channels, Clean and Distortion. Onboard effects Chorus, Flanger, Delay and Reverb. Cabinet comes with castors. Footswitch does not come included. Insert jack in the back for effects loop.

For the price this is a pretty good starter halfstack. The clean is pretty good, it starts to break up around the 3 o'clock position. The distortion is decent. It's not super high gain but it actually has a nice tone. I put a Sonic Maximizer in the effects loop and it helped alot. Added alot of clarity and bottom end. The onboard effects are pretty shoddy. They're not tweakable, the only thing you can adjust is the level. It's sturdy and loud and fairly dependable. I've had it for over a year and the only problem I've had is that the input jack is loose so I have to brace the cable up to keep it working right. If you're not a gear snob and on a low budget I wouldn't shy away from it.

I do everything from Satriani to Lamb of God, Pantera to Pink Floyd. Of course the Floyd doesn't really sound right because it's a solid state but it's pretty versatile. It doesn't sound so metal that it won't do anything else.
