Fender Frontman 212R
I bought this amp new online for 329 USD to use in Iraq.
It's 100 watts, solid state, clean/distortion with a gain boost and a mid contour button, tone control for both channels, footswitch included, spring reverb and effects loop.
The clean is great, very clear and nice sounding. The distortion is decent, with the right EQ settings you can easily do blues and rock with it. I bought it for the Fender cleans so I wasn't expecting high gain but it sounds nice with a BBE Sonic Maximizer in the effects loop. It's a little fizzy and trebly and it doesn't cut through as nicely as my friend's Peavey Vypyr 75 Watt.
It's loud enough for small outdoor gigs but it will break up around the 3 o'clock position. I prefer to mike it and run it through a PA set. I had a hard time hearing it with drums, bass and the other guitarist until i miked it and turned it to face me as a monitor.
The only problems I've had is the cable for the footswitch has a short in it after about 4 months.
If it was lost or stolen, I'd probably buy a Fender SuperChamp XD or a small tube amp for about the same price. It's a decent amp for practice or beginning but it was lacking just a little.
