Ha ! I jiggle strings with a big pull. But really, don't assume the frets are in the tight place - measure it. I often have to go heavier strings. My first gibson played 007 almost perfect and I've had some sort of trouble ever since. Sometimes you can just re-dress the frets if you can't reset the neck.

For hardcore tuners, it's hard to beat a Peterson, but it will drive you crazy.
