Seem to have identical specs, except line 6 has pod farm and 2 hi-z lines. If I went with the M-Audio, would I have to use a pre-amp for my guitars and bass? I need USB, as there is no way to connect a 6pin firewire to my laptops' dock (it's a IBM T61p, so no worry about power). Thanks for looking, and all help is appreciated. |

The m-audio unit has hi-z inputs on channels 1 & 2. They sell 6->4 pin fire wire cables and adaptors, if you wanted to go the firewire route. You could not power the unit via the cable, but most have built-in power. |
