Stand Alone VS. PC

Im not sure which route to take. I have done the PC bit for awhile but there's all kinds of compatibility issues when you use computers. With Standalone just plug and go.(at least I think.) I have been debating about making the switch because I got a new computer as a gift a while back and its a vista 64 bit system that doesn't work with my Presonus firestudio project! so rather than buying another computer and having to worry about more computability issues. Switch and plug and go.

I'm a drummer so I need at least 8 XLR inputs. Do live recording once in awhile so the mobility is a plus. If you guys could give me your opinion on the matter I would greatly appreciate it.

Also do they make any stand alone units that you can plug a monitor and mouse into. I must a a decent size screen really helps!

why not switch to XP64? that'll fix most of your compatibility issues.

because the firestudio project isn't compatible with any 64bit system. and I don't feel like running a dual boot machine. plus then I have to worry about buying more software.
