So many hate PRESONUS

Ok so my Inpire 1394 has a busted Channel 1, cracks and pops when recording or on playback. Using Vista, am gonna try XP.

To all you gurues out there.

Waht is a good reliable easy to use interface that is cheap but will get the job done. I tried the WIZARD but I really have no Idea what I need in somew of those questions. I want software that will handle drum loops well, I want an interface that has XLR and Hi-z (1/4") I want it to be user friendly, plug and play, not plug and play with the drivers and software before you will even find out that the unit sucks any way 5 days later when youve lost your hair, your house and your wife cuz the unit JUST SUCKS.

I tried the Sonar Power Studio 250 and had issue with that one too. The only easy thing I have found is the damn LINE 6 gearbox, but that just sounds like poo, not an SM 57 pumping the sounds of my Randall RM100 though Vintage 30s into my CPU.

Mother F**k PRESONUS...

I am the strongest opposure of PRESONUS products... I think its messed up that a company can put out a product that flat out doesn't work... And in order to make it work u have to use 3rd party drivers... that's ridiculous...

As far as reliable interface I think the motu's are pretty solid... I personally use TC Konnekts (I own the Konnekt 8 and 24) but I can't personally refer them due to the issues that they've been having. I guess I'm lucky that I haven't had any major issues with them but a few minor ones...

I think Presonus makes some really nice things. I have a Central Station I couldn't live without. For my mobile rig I have and Audiobox which is an amazing interface for $150. Sure things break. Whatever. Everything man-made is subject to being hand-broken.

Ok so Im getting 2 sides of the story LOL, Presonus is gonna fix the 1394 for free and upgrade my Cubase LE 1 to LE 4 so thats cool.

So from here its a matter of waiting till it returns.

Anyone use REAPER software?

The only piece of Presonus gear I have is the Faderport, for the longest time I was pissed because the footswitch never worked. Finally after many long months they finally updated the drivers, and I have footswitch support!!! and since, I've never even used it\
I do use it's other functions everyday tho and would get another if it broke.

I own two pieces of presonus gear .... an HP4 headphone monitor and a Monitor Station. They are two of the best, most solid, best sounding, clear, pieces of utility gear I've ever owned.

I've never used one of their interfaces however, os that may be a different ballgame.

Lol, nah I use the ** cause (eventhough Im cursing) it feels much more offensive with the UC...

I think I might have to limit my rants to the Interfaces... Im not sure yet im still pretty pissed... And I have used the faderport and cant find anything bad to say about that (except its made by PRE*****) but i went with the alphatrack... Love the touchstrip...

And I so was gonna and still might get the Central Station... I like the flexibility and have heard great things about the signal quality... I had the mackie big knob for 2 secs (signal was crap!!!)... Thank god for return policies...

I still hate Pre******, Im glad they stepping up to the plate... That was a weak offering from them and I hope they step they game up with the StudioLive. (God they make pretty toys)

In this day and age I feel we as consumers need to start holding these companies more liable for there faulty equipment... Im sure if our money wasnt good (I bet you $$$) they would be beating down your door with warrants and suppeonas trying to hold you accountable... But yet they put out products with half ass (opps) drivers and blame other vendors for software/firewire issues. And all you can do (as the person feeding they kids) is prey and hope that your still with in warranty (90 days) or get your gear with a great return policy... oh yeah if you have an issue go to there forum...

Im in the wrong line of work...!!!
