I am newkid not whomper.

I think garageband may be whomper based on some goldeneared allusions someone else made about whomper and other similar messages that described garage

After 2 months guitar center had a midnight madness sale, got 3 for $90.

Oh, and I ignore the catalog prices. They change the prices every month on thousands of items. And catalogs like Full Compass and B&H, only list retail prices. They know they would never sell it for that much, it's just for reference.

I only read catalogs for ideas about what is available and the alleged costs. Lots of fun, and much easier and faster than the net. Plus I can put yellow stickies on pages to come back to later without hunting.

But sudden jumps in prices makes me wonder. And jumps can be normal prices that are discounted less.

I never buy list. Rarely buy retail except in emergency or something so cheap it is not worth the effort to try to find it cheaper. I will either find a deep discount place or wait for a sale if it it just a want and not a vital need.

Maybe I look like a barefoot pilgrim, but every time GC has an alleged sale and I get snookered into going to the store they show me repackaged returns at full list price and try to tell me that is the best that they can do even though their comparison terminal at the front of the store shows their web site is cheaper, and I can usually find several more webstores that beat GC's web price.

I clicked through on B&H and got 25% lower price quoted than any other web store and of them were all 50% below list already.

Oh c'mon. How long can you keep this charade goin'? Just admit it man. And, it's ok if you were whomper. Everyone likes newkid a lot better anyway. Just don't deny that Big Brother's always watching...and he really knows the truth from what he can see behind the scenes.

Ok, ok. You are welcome any which way. Glad you're back with a new disposition.

Peace,

Well, you aren't wrong to wonder, but a sudden jump is usually preceded by a sudden dip.

I sure hope there are a lot of sudden dips after Christmas.

If you order some stuff from Sweetwater (Welcome to Sweetwater.com | Call Us @ 800 222 4700), they'll assign you a sales engineer. apparently, all of these guys used to be in the studio one way or another. i ordered $200 in cables and got a guy named Dave who called me personally to thank me for the order. From there on out, I could email him and haggle on prices. One common haggle was "this was $20 cheaper a few months ago..hook me up, dave.", and he would. He was a Berklee grad and ex recording engineer. He gave a lot of great advice.

worth checking out. if you don't know, Sweetwater is like Musician's Friend..only more geared towards recording professionals and enthusiasts.

Sorry, without a doubt newkid is the old whomper!

However, newkid no longer acts like the old whomper IMHO!

Now go get those chickens!

Great to have a relationship at any store.
Most of them even fight me for their price match guarantee and dont even consider trying to get a discount.

I have used sweetwater, GC, musicians friend, B&H, Kellys c&m.
Some I like better than others. None of them on my bad list yet.
