Presonus or M-audio

Can you help me about chosing one of these?
I'll use audio interface at home recording.From desktop pc.
I want firewire interface.

I'm sure other people will have more to say, but one thing to remember is that

M-Audio = ProTools
Presonus = Cubase

While the m-audio will work with protools m-powered, it should work fine with cubase if asio drivers are provided.

actually you dont have to use cubase with presonus. the pack usually comes with cubase le4(which blows in my opinion) and i switched to audition 3.0 and got some pretty good results using the compressors that came with it. I havent used M-audios, but ive gotten pretty good results alone from presonus.

Actually the Presonus ships with Studio-One and the M-Audio doesn't ship with anything. However, the M-Audio will work with M-Powered Pro-tools and pretty much anything else for that matter. The Presonus won't work with Pro-tools but will work with just about anything else. The Presonus has more inputs (2 mic-6 line and 2 spdf) vs (2 mic- 2 line and 2 spdf) it will also daisy chain with other Firstudio models. Don't know about the M-Audio. These 2 products are really pretty close. If Pro-tools is an issue and you have to or even want to use it, then the M-Audio will have to be the choice. Bare in mind that you'll have to buy a copy of Pro-Tools M-Powered $250.00) That is almost as much as the interface. So you can pay $550.00 total for the M-Audio protools setup. Or $300.00 for the Presonus with Studio one. I got this info from Sweetwater.com You may be able to get a better price on everything elsewhere.
