Default Picked up a SIIG express firewire card

My Dell 1525 has a built in FW that has seemed to be working fine with my Presonus FireStudio. I found a SIIG express FW card from Dell when I was ordering my 35 yr old son a Play Station III (LOL) anyway It was about $45.00 and has the TI chip set so I bought it. When I got around to installing it I uninstalled the Presonus Universal drivers, disabled the onboard FW controller, Installed the SIIG and re-installed the Presonus drivers. Everything seems to work a little quicker now. When I click on the Presonus routing software it all seems work much smoother. I was wondering if I could enable the onboard FW controller and use it for a FW external HD? Would that get in the way of anything?

Technically, you SHOULDN'T have any problems using both the TI Firewire card and your integrated Firewire. I'd give it hell and see what happens.

Fundamentally, you want as few as components as possible, but you should be fine here.
