 Overheads
So, im guna buy some overheads, currently I have a beta 52 for my kick and a SM57 on my snare. I've been recommended buy buy a pair of AT2020s. Whats everyone's verdict on these ?  |

The AT2020s are okay. They do get a little fizzy in the top end, but that's extremely common in that price range. You may want to take a look at the Karma K10s. They are extremely inexpensive and pretty damn good if you've got a pad and like an aggressive drum sound. Brandon

Myself I couldnt stand the Beta 52 on the kick so i picked up an AKG D112 and now use the 52 for a floor tom mic. I like this arrangement much better. Ive heard 2020's and didnt care for them too much, but i did hear a recording in a very dead room with the 2020's that i really liked alot. These mics seem to accentuate smashing and trashing sound that annoys me so much. |
