Logic Studio

I am saving up to upgrade from garage band to logic studio. Mainly because the DAW is the same price as alot of other DAW's and is bundled with alot of other stuff I need to make better use of my midi controllers. I was wondering though I have a Power Book G4 with 2 Gigs of ram and a 1.5 gig proseser is this enough to run 8 analog inputs and if any one has logic studio I was wondering if you liked it. Thank you very much.

I run Logic Studio, and I find it to be a superb program. I think your system will be working hard to run it at full capacity, but if you go easy on the plug ins and virtual instruments, you could be ok.

I was also wanting to use live band I was very inspired by NIN when I saw them and recently learned that alot of those sounds they had where coming from add ins on a mac do you think that I could use midi to switch guitar tones and have a keyboard that I could play live at the same time both using effects and voicing.

They may have been using mainstage. I have not used this program, but it does come bundled with Logic. You may want to check apple's website for minimum system requirements..I don't know if your ibook can handle mainstage. I remember I played with it once, and it was a lot for my macbook pro. Fin out what NIN is using, and I can probably tell you more.

Yea...logic pro is a beating on my macbook pro (2.4Ghz and 4 gigs of ram)
it works amazing though.

i like it better than pro tools, cubase, and garage band. Although, you have to sit here for about a week and find out how to use it, but that goes with any expensive program.
