i own this interface and it is real easy to use. the only thing that made me upset was that you have to have internet to register the cubase le4 to use it after a certain period of time and then they dont tell you in the description.. that you need a dvd rom to in stall the drivers from the lexicon setup disc other than that it runs great

Actually I am having a problem with the Lexicon Lambda. It behaves erratically. My son tested it on his 2 computers and he says it is "broken"... "sounds horrible & full of static." He tested it on a mac & a pc.

I have been using it for a few months. Sometimes it sounds great...other times there is unexplained hissing in the recordings. Although sometimes I can fix this by checking my cable connections.

I tested it today on Cubase LE and it was fine. Now I am testing it on my old copy of CoolEdit. It is acting weird. Sometimes it records a track fine. The next track will be the horrible static in stereo (I am recording in Mono.)

Does anyone have an idea what's causing this??

    Quality: 0
I find the plastic case to be sturdy, but will still take to jams inside original box so it does not get scratched. Have no issues running under Vista or Xp (both 32bit) but it does not work on a Windows Server 2008 Desktop.

I expected to have a full 2 channels of input but you only get 1 channel but Left & Right can be used as separate tracks and this has currently been the only critique of this device.

    Reliability: 0
I have had no reliability problems with this device at all. Have not registered for support and dont forsee any need to.

    Overall Rating: 0
I would recommend the next model up (Omega) than the Lamba as the Omega is supposed to have 2 Channels of input while the Lamda only has 1 (2 channels of recording using Left and Right).

A major downside if wanting to record a small band on the one DAW (eg: guitar, vocals, drums, bass)

I had it and it worked great for a year. We started experiencing the entire unit cutting out from a bad connection with the USB cable. After a few months of that, it stopped working all together. Real bummer, but we need something bigger now anyway. A Tascam us-1641 is being shipped to my house as we speak.

Can you be a little more specific?
    Have you installed the drivers?
    Are you using Cubase LE4?
Have you set up the input and output channels in Cubase?
Have you opened a new audio track?
have you enabled record on the track?
What are you using for a microphone?
What is the source of the background music?
    Have you read the manual?
I hate people that take drugs. Customs officers for example.

    Hi guys,

I am using the Lambda for 2 years already now. And for a small studio setup like mine, this thing rocks!! Please do make sure your cables are of good quality.
