Default Keyboard floppy disk corrupt after putting it in PC

Damn, looks like all my beats are gone!! I got this Yamaha CVP59S elpiano which records MIDI onto floppy disks. Yesterday I wanted to transfer all my stuff over to PC. So I put the disk in my PC, but then Windows XP asked me if I wanted to format. I said no ofcourse, and immediately took it out. But now when I put it back into my Yamaha, it keeps asking me if I want to format it.. What the fuck just happened???? My beats????????? As far as I know it didn't touch any of the actual MIDI, just modified some headers or whatever, fucking up the compatibility? Is there any way to save what was once on that disk?

Thanks y'all..

there are utilities
that might read the data to a real pc disk
how you get it onto some oddball yamaha proprietary disk format is beyond me

next time try a disk copy a: to b: first
do not insert the disk until it wants to read it
it should not do anything to it or ask about reformatting
worst case it says cant read insert another disk

then use the copied disk on the pc

I'm going to assume that Yamaha has some sort of method for backing up the disk in the future. As for now I have absolutely no idea how to solve this one.

Well, actually, after you said that I immediately went and tried this floppy recovery thing called BadCopy Pro and it actually managed to retrieve all my files!!!!
