Default Is This Inexpensive Studio Foam Worth Buying??

I am trying to find a good deal on acoustic foam that is works. I found these on Ebay.

Dark Charcoal - Acoustic Foam Bass Absorber Traps - eBay (item 260286115807 end time Sep-18-08 07:28:06 PDT)

Dark Charcoal - Acoustic Foam Bass Absorbers- Traps 8pk - eBay (item 260286599758 end time Sep-19-08 08:38:56 PDT)

24x12x2" Thick Studio Acoustic Soundproofing Wedge Foam - eBay (item 260285328139 end time Sep-16-08 09:21:07 PDT)

STUDIO ACOUSTIC WEDGE FOAM CORNER KIT BASS ABSORBERS - eBay (item 260285368457 end time Sep-16-08 10:53:05 PDT)

I realize for the ones that say soundproofing.. they won't actually soundproof anything, but does anyone know how well these work for room acoustics?

The short answer is no, not worth it.
Things like these look pretty, but for sound absorption don't do much. If you really want to go down that ugly road of sound waves and room acoustics. Start here.

Warning, once you understand how sound moves and know how to control them for the perfect mixing envioronment. You will look at your current room in disgust. Then you will max all your credit cards, then the driving around town for fiberglass, then the tedious moving of your desk and new acoustic toys 8 times. I know.

I recommend using a few blankets on mic stands before buying studio foam. If you are serious, look into bass traps.
