gman - I am trying to get a basic and rugged mic kit for drums. I have some good mics but need something that can handle stage work. The three SM57's and the PS-2 run ~$350 and will do the job fine. There are better, but I do not plan to devote a lot of time and money to this end of the business. I like plain acoustic music and record that as much as is possible. There is not much around. The Firestudio project seems a pretty good rig for 8 tracks. And you get to ffed back to the musicians. It is pretty hard to go wrong at the price. Keep us in the loop with your project.  |
