Default Getting sound from mixing desk to computer

I have a Behringer UB2442FX and a Toneport UX2.
but i can't seem to get sound from my desk to my computer and onto an audio workstation, and out my speakers
My mixing desk is not USB
i've attached some photos of the back of my mixing desk and the front and back of my audio interface.

Thanks

How did you try to cable it together?
How is the software set?

mikes or something into proper 2442 input
set faders etc
2442 main out lower left
to line in on ux2 back upper left as oriented in picture
usb to pc
to software

can you hear it in the ux2 phone out? beheringer phones?

how is the software set up?

i Pluged an XLR into the main out at the back on my behringer
Plugged that into Mic 1 on the toneport
and run usb from my toneport into my computer

the software it set up as input and output toneport

Thanks

should i use 1 Jack from Main out on behringer to Line in on my Toneport?
also, i've set my levels and faders etc with my behringer and it comes out fine through the behringer phones, but only when the track is solo'd?

Thanks again

To go (input) from mixer->toneport->computer:
Xlr or trs main outs on mixer to line in on toneport.
usb connection from toneport to computer

To go (output) from computer->toneport->mixer:
usb connection from toneport to computer.
analog outputs on toneport to main ins on mixer.

and could you explain why you have an output from your computer back to your mixer? whats the purpose of it?

Thanks.

i'm guessing i'd use Twin Phono to Jack to output from my desk to my speakers?

Jack into Aux and connect the Twin Phono into the back of my speakers?
and that will let me monitor my recording through my speakers?

Thanks again.

I assumed that you would just be using the toneport for a a/d, d/a converter
and use the mixer to drive your monitors as well as using the mixer's mic inputs.

Thanks.

My guess is that the twin phonos are for a analog turntable. I don't see them in the mixer's photo.

I would use one set of the mixer's (either xlr or trs) to drive your monitors.

sorry i'm just a little confused, setting up a mixing desk is completly new to me.

my Speakers allow a twin phono input but theres no phono on the back of the desk, so i was thinking i may need a TRS to phono to go from my desk into my speakers.
From my aux sends to the phono input at the back of my speakers.

and im not sure what the purpose of a A/D D/A converter is.
i just want my mixer to be able to record onto the computer and have my speakers to hear what i'm doing.

i can get sound through my channels when solo'd but not through my main mix, and nothings getting to my toneport

Thanks.

What brand of monitor speaker are you using ? I can google them and see what the twin phono inputs are.

Since your toneport is only a two input interface,
I'm assuming that you bought the mixer to allow you to record and mix multiple
inputs and send them via a stereo signal from the mixer's main outputs to the
line inputs of the toneport.

To record a signal from the mixer to the toneport:
Connect the xlr main outs on the mixer to the trs inputs on the toneport.
2 xlr to trs cables required. One each for right and left channels.

To listen to the sound on your speakers.
If you have active/powered monitors connect the analog outs on the toneport to the inputs on the monitors.
If your monitors use trs inputs then you will need two trs to trs cables.
One each for right and left channels.

i've taken a photo of the back of my speakers. i'm not sure what make or model they are, i can't remember

so to record to the computer using my mixer i'll need 2 XLR to TRS (L&R) plugged into the Line input at the back of my toneport?
this will allow me to record, mix etc using the desk and still record that to the computer?

Heres the links to the photos of the back of my speaker and the phono cable

It looks like the mixer also has trs as well as xlr outs on the main outputs,
so you could either use two xlr to trs or two trs to trs connectors from the main outs on the mixer to the line in on the toneport.

The photos helped. I see that your monitors are using rca (phono) plugs.
You can use two trs to rca connectors from the tome port analog outs to the rca inputs on your monitors.

Is this a powered home theater subwoofer that connects to the satellite speakers ?

Yes. This will allow you to live mix multiple inputs on your mixer while recording on your computer.

Good Luck.
