| I'm currently setting up a small home studio to record my own band. I have Sonar and have been using it to record guitar straight from a pedal I have with a USB out but clearly I need more to record drums etc. After some research I am considering if an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R teamed up with some Shure SM57s would be enough for my needs. I'm planning on using a basic drum sound (Kick, Snare, Hi-hats and Ride), micing up my amps to record the guitars and bass and then using the SM57s to record the vocals. For the dums, I had intended to use a mic each on the kick and snare and then position one (or two) over the whole kit to pick up the cymbals and an overall sound. Would appreciate any advice. |
