Default Drum software standalone

Hello !

I was reading on various forum but as a newbie, I can't fully understand...so I will give a try here and ask this question :

I want to record rock/metal songs for my own pleasure. Nothing professionnal. Here's what I have so far in terms of hardware and software :

Gibson SG
Pod XT
Pentium IV 3ghz, 1.5gig ram
Guitar track pro

With the pod, I can record the guitar (dah), and I will eventualy buy the bass amps pack...and a bass

My problem is the drums. I'm looking for a full standalone software allowing me to make some drum loops, do what I want in terms of pattern (don't want to be stuck with the library) and export the loops in Guitar track pro 3 as a wav file.

Can anyone help me ????

Our set up are very familiar. ( Im using POD XT aswell )
You can use EZDrummer ( drums from hell ) as VSTI but im not very sure if you are able to run them in guitar track. ( not familiar with guitar track )
In that case, i would advise you to get fruity loop and run them with EZ Drummer. You can just export as wave file as you mentioned before.

I don't think that Guitar track pro can manage VSTI. That's why I was asking for a standalone software...

I'll give a look at fruity loop.

Any other ideas people ?

Oh, almost forgot : Is the software Reason less or more complicated than Fruity loops ? I can get that software (I worked a bit with it in the past) but I found that it was a bit too complicated...

i think fruity loop is probarly the easiest one to use. Its does the job fast and the interface is very direct. Just fiddle with it and you'll be on your way in no time.

thanks. now I will try to get rid of those white noise that my POD xt makes...

You said you had the pod xt too. Do you record throught USB ? I tried everything and it still pops randomly. Those pops seems to somehow disapear several minutes after I open the pod xt. Tried to disable every damn usb ports on my CPU and just running with a PCI card...doesn't worked. any idea ?

PM me if you want

Im recording via mackie interface. Im not sure what u mean by white noises? do you mean static sound? the only thing i can advise is to activate the noise gate function on your pod. I never had problem with sound interferences.

I'm recording throught USB.

PODxt --> PCI USB card --> Guitar track pro

I have some noise burst and choppy recording. This is a known problem of the PODxt but it seems that I can solve it even with the workaround. I'll start a new thread I think for that

I'm not sure how hardcore you want to go here, but here's what I would want.

Cubase (possibly LE, but Studio may be required)
Superior Drummer 2.0

There are others out there, however. Realistic Drum Samples
