Default Cubase 4 and its Cousins LE & SX

First of all, I know nothing about Cubase. I'm just getting the hang of Reason 4. My question: I want to record guitar tracks and just about every guitarist I splak swear by Cubase. I'm looking to plug into the computer and hoping to use an amp simulator in the programme because i Line 6 practise amp isn't really punchy enough. Also, I'm looking for effects, but not too much since I have an effects pedal.

I friend of mine has Cubase LE which he uses for keyboard work (he's just learning the proggie too). A professional copy of Cubase is something like $600 and I can't afford that even on my best day. My friend got his copy with a bundle of some sort, which I'm considering.

I'm not looking for anything fancy, but a decent so I can finally put some songs and pass my cd to friends and family.

That's unfortunate. When that many guitar players "swear" by something, it's usually crappy. I am a happy Cubase user, however.

So what exactly are you asking?

If you are looking to get started with a Cubase, it's best to get Cubase LE bundled with an audio interface.

I will give Cubase LE a shot. Or maybe even test drive my friend's. I just thought of that. Sad.

THanks!!
