Default Re: Best Vocal Mic For under $500???

Check out the Gauge ECM 87 Its online for $150 and comes with a shockmount and pop filter. There is a mic shootout on the gauge-usa website, where you can hear the mic compared to other studio microphones on vocals and guitar.

Here is a blurb from the New Items section:

The company GAUGE PRECISION INSTRUMENTS ANNOUNCES ECM-87 MICROPHONE
Gauge Precision Instruments, Inc., the collaboration of mult-platinum recording engineers Chandler Bridges and Rob Chiarelli is pleased to announce their new microphone: the ECM 87
The ECM-87 is a large diaphragm, cardioid condenser microphone. The fully-gradient, transformerless design makes it the perfect choice for home or studio recording.
With ultra-low self noise and high sound pressure rating, the ECM-87 faithfully captures the dynamics and nuances of the voice and musical instruments in a 20Hz-20kHz frequency range. It is impressive when recording vocals, drums and stringed instruments, such as the acoustic guitar.
At it's debut on November 6th, the ECM-87 was recognized as having a classic look and feel, with solid construction and faithful sound reproduction holding it's own against many "studio microphones".
Each ECM-87 is hand selected and ear tested by both Bridges & Chiarelli. Available in limited quantities at GAUGE MICROPHONES - CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.

Default Best wireless headworn mic for stage?

Hi- I'm a newbee producer for stage musicials and am looking for help with deciding which headworn wireless mics to buy for my solo vocalist. I am a musician and a vocalist myself, and prefer the Shure sm58 handheld mic when I perform. My actors hands must be free,so I'm looking for headworn wireless mics. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks. Gail Holmes
